Description

Liliensternus liliensterni
Named by Fredrich Von Huene, 1934 (Under the name Halticosaurus; generic name by Samuel Paul Welles, 1984)
Diet: Carnivore (Prey included early sauropodomorphs such as Plateosaurus as well as small animals such as therapsids and herbivorous archosaurs; it may have also been an opportunistic scavenger)
Type: Theropod saurischian (coelophysid) dinosaur
Size: 16.9 feet (5.15 meters) long and 280 to 440 lb.
Region: Europe (Germany)
Age: Late Triassic (228 to 201.3 million BC; Norian to Rhaetian)
Episode: Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular
Info: Named after Hugo Ruele Von Lilienstern, an amatuer German paleontologist and doctor who found it in Bedham, Germany in 1934, Liliensternus was one of the best representative Triassic theropods of Europe and was also one of the earliest of the large meat-eating dinosaurs. Longer than a big car, this coelophysid theropod would've been a vicious, agile hunter of Late Triassic Germany, preying on the large prosauropods such as Plateosaurus that it shared with, while the short, rounded pair of crests on its head was probably used to attract mates and ward off rival males.
Original Version: media.spokesman.com/photos/200…

Note: Based on Gregory S. Paul's skeletal reconstruction. Gaved it feathers since coelophysids were primitive neotheropodas and the feathers were based on Kulindadromeus. Yeah I remember that I went to see Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular and it was very spectacular, with real-looking dinosaurs and pterosaurs. I first saw it when I was 17 at TD Bank North in Boston, Massachusetts and when I was 19 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. :D (Big Grin)

Hi, just to notify you, the Spore Liliensternus I made is not only a reference from the WWD Arena Spectacular model, it is also inspired from this spectacular art of yours. Just want to thank you too for remaking the Walking With Dinosaurs models in their accurate restorations.
